BREAST LIFT SURGERY

Breast droopiness, also known as breast ptosis, generally comes in three different forms: mild, moderate, and severe. Depending on your specific form of breast ptosis we will be able to find the solution best suited for you. We offer breast lift surgeries that are effective in treating mild, moderate, and severe instances of ptosis:

  • Mild: nipple is level with the crease

  • Moderate: nipple is below the crease

  • Severe: nipple is at the lowest point on breast and points downward

If you're considering a breast lift, you should be realistic about the results of a breast lift surgery in regards to your own body type. The best results tend to occur with small breasts, as the results may not be as long-lasting with heavier breasts.

Some patients who have breast implants, and also suspect that they have breast ptosis may in fact just have poorly positioned implants. If you fall under this category, then you should discuss this with a board certified plastic surgeon. Women who smoke should quit at least six months before breast lift surgery due to health risks.

If you are a woman who is intending to become pregnant, you may want to postpone your breast lift until afterwards, as lactation changes the shape of one's breasts.

Breast lift surgery in Bahrain generally lasts from 1-3 hours, takes place in an outpatient facility, and uses general anesthetic. There are many different breast lift options available, and it is important to talk with an experienced member of our team about which one is best for you.

The procedure itself involves removing skin and perhaps some glandular tissue, and elevating the nipple. During a breast lift, the surgeon may also reduce the size of your areola, which is the dark ring around your nipple.

RESULTS AND AFTERCARE

Recovery time after surgery is usually about two weeks, during which you will wear a surgical bra for needed support while you heal. Temporary bruising and swelling may be expected, and we may prescribe pain medication. As with all surgeries, some scarring occurs. The effects of the surgery are long-lasting but not permanent, since gravity continues to push down on the patient's breasts.
